About Me
My name is Kelly Wayner. I was born and raised in Topeka, KS. I graduated in May of 2014 from The University of Kansas and was fortunate enough to be part of the School of Education program. My focus is in Health and Physical Education. I did my student teaching assignment at Seaman Middle school and Elmont Elemtnary in Topeka.
Growing up I was involved in sports year round, which is why I was so interested and could relate well to Health and Physical Education. I enjoy being physically active and realize the benefits it has on my body and life. Not only do I look forward to being a fun and energetic teacher, but a coach as well. I am now working for the Kansas State Department of Education as a Public Health Educator. I focus on implementing K-FIT (Fitnessgram) into schools by training teachers at in-services and providing technical assistance. I also help conduct trainings on Let's Move Active Kansas Schools (LMAKS), work on the 1305 grant dealing with Wellness Policies and I'm on the PE Curriculum team. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering, photography, fishing, traveling, spending time with family and of course...playing sports! I hope you enjoy my online portfolio. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
